Important Information - Please read before registering:

Grading System:

Students must maintain a minimum average of 70% in all subjects. Those who fail to achieve this must make arrangements to improve their standing. Students will be granted an opportunity for rewriting an exam or assignment.

Failure of a Course:

Students must retake any failed courses in the next session that the course is available. Failure to take an exam constitutes failure of that exam.

Code of Conduct:

The Balnea Institute will not tolerate cheating, misrepresentation, unfairness or dishonesty. Students whose conduct in any way threatens the well being of fellow students, staff, patients or the profession will be asked to leave (dismissed).

Course Exemptions or Recognition of Advanced Standing:

Applicants with credits or qualifications from other accredited institutions or courses may be exempt from equivalent courses in the program. Students seeking advanced standing must do so in writing to the Director of Education.

Registration Deadlines:

Enrollment in all classes is limited. Students are encouraged to apply well in advance of the course deadline. Applications received after the deadline are only accepted if space is available.

Attendance:

Students will be expected to attend school for one year, Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Home study time for projects, completion of assignments and mid-term exams is expected.

Absences:

Hours in class that are missed must be made up before final exams and certification. Full opportunity will be provided for this. If a student is absent during the time a new modality is being offered, students must complete this at their earliest possible convenience, or at the first available opportunity that the program is available.

Equipment and Supplies:

The cost of equipment and supplies are all extra. This will be billed as a separate fee prior to commencing the course.

  • Payments for equipment and kit fees can be made by the following: Visa, MasterCard, Cash, Certified Cheque.

Dress Code:

Students will be expected to business casual during classes and to wear uniforms during all clinic times. Esthetic students are required to wear white uniforms for clinic time and students enrolled in other programs can wear white or pale coloured uniforms.  This will consist of "medical scrubs or a nurse's uniform" and are easily found in various department stores.

Admission Policy:

All applicants are considered on the basis of their academic achievement, relevant experience, motivation, character, humanistic qualities and maturity.

The academic prerequisites for admission are as follows:
