Materia Medica I

Prerequisite: Introduction to Herbology

  • The energy and direction of herbs

  • The energy of illness

  • Herbal properties - introducing 20 herbs, their energies, tastes, actions, indications, precautions and side effects

  • How to shop for herbs

Materia Medica II and III

Prerequisite:  Materia Medica I

  • Herbal properties - additional 20 herbs in II and 20 herbs in III, their energies, tastes, actions, indications, precautions and side effects

Materia Medica IV
Prerequisite:  Materia Medica II

  • The study of herbal combinations

  • Introducing traditional formula and common formula

Applied Phytotherapeutics I
Prerequisite: Anatomy & Physiology
  • Herbal protocols used in the treatment of dysfunction in the digestive, cardio-vascular, respiratory, nervous and muscular-skeletal systems

Applied Phytotherapeutics II
Prerequisite:  Applied Phytotherapeutics I

  • Herbal protocols used in the treatment of dysfunction in the female reproductive, male reproductive, urinary, lymphatic, immune, glandular system and integumentary systems.

Herbal Pharmacy
  • Harvesting, preparing and storing herbs
  • Herbal preparations
Herb/Drug Interaction
  • From A to Z - herbs and their interaction with drugs
Materia Medica V, VI, VII - Eastern Pharmacy
  • Study of herbs that release the exterior, drain fire, cool the blood, dry dampness, relieve toxicity, purge, regulate qi, calm and nourish heart and spirit and expel parasites
