The Balnea Institute offers a unique diploma program based in holistic health care.  Time-honored, cross-cultured approaches to health care are becoming increasingly popular and are being driven not only by consumer demand, but with growth, recognition and acceptance of alternative health practices within the health sector. This program offers a solid theoretical base and offers opportunities for students to study recognized healing modalities, that are supported by professional organizations, recognized by municipalities for licensing and taught by highly qualified and recognized teachers within their field. 

 

The Natural Health Care Practitioner Diploma is designed for students with a thirst for knowledge and the willingness to help others.  The program can be completed Full or Part Time depending upon your schedule.

Aromatherapy

The Balnea Institute offers a thorough look into the art and science of aromatherapy.  This extensive program equips the student with the skills of safe blending techniques and lymphatic drainage massage.

 

Reflexology

Using the reflexes in the foot, students will learn healing techniques that are used in a relaxing, non-invasive treatment.

 

Bach Flowers

The healing power of Bach Flower

Remedies have been around since 1930s. Bach Flower Remedies are a simple, natural and effective system of medicine  . The popularity of these remedies is growing due to the realization that the true health involves body, mind and spirit.

 

Oriental Analysis

Oriental Analysis is an ancient technique used to read the face and feet to help the practitioner to determine areas of the body that are imbalanced, and therefore require attention and treatment.

 

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Focuses on the prevention and treatment of disease using a variety of natural remedies.  Students will learn the history of TCM, the five elements, nature and application of the Yin and Yang concept, functions and Inter-relations of the Yin and Yang organs, cause and diagnosis of disease and the vital substances and the concept of Qi in Chinese Medicine.

 

Nutrition Fundamentals

Students will understand the link between nutrition and preventative health and how poor nutrition habits can undermine our health.

 

Herbal Medicine

Looking at both Eastern and Western approaches of Herbology this module introduces .  With a focus on safe drug and herb interaction.

 

 

Iridology

Iridology is the scientific practice which involves correlating the markings and patterns of the iris to reflex manifestations and bodily malfunctions among the organs of the body.

 

Indian Head/Hot Stone/Swedish Relaxation

Massage techniques have been used for centuries to treat all sorts of maladies. The Chinese, the Romans and many other ancient and modern cultures have utilized massage for their various aches and pains.

  

 

Core Program Foundation Courses

These courses are designed to build the students knowledge of the human body in health and disease and professional practices.

 

Homeopathy

The basic principle of homeopathy as a system of medicine was recognized in ancient Greece by the physician Hippocrates. Homeopathic treatment involves giving a patient with illness an

extremely small dose of substances that produces the same symptoms in a healthy person when given in larger doses.  It is the concept of like heals like.  This module includes treatment of common ailments with basic remedies.
